Are your fictional relationships sizzling or fizzling? No matter what you write, we’ve got a trope for you! Romance plays into every genre: Star Wars has Han & Leia, Marvel has Tony & Pepper, The Hunger Games has Katniss & Peeta, and James Bond has 007 & well…everyone. By constructing realistic relationships in even the most extraordinary of circumstances, we can bring a whole new level of emotion to our characters and sense of connection to our readers. In this Write Brain, we’ll take a look at romance across all genres to examine what works and why, exploring both familiar and lesser-known tropes to help you add a little love to your next book.
