Open Critique

Aug 05, 2021 — 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Location: Online VIa Zoom (get directions)

FREE! First week of every month.

When the COVID-19 craziness started up in 2020, Pikes Peak Writers was forced to put Open Critique on hiatus. We waited and hoped and waited and hoped but no sign of a venue opening back up to host us (for free) presented itself. Thus, we decided to bring Open Critique back (with several modifications) via online meetings.

Open Critique now occurs on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM via Zoom. The first eight people to contact critique@pikespeakwriters.com each month will be admitted. A link to the event will be provided in a reservation confirmation email. Writers read out loud the first 500 words of their work in progress and the rest of the attendees offer short critiques in response. You will get immediate feedback on your work while learning how to give and receive constructive feedback on a work in progress.

Should a venue open up, OC will return to in-person sessions. Bob Spiller has agreed to return to facilitate those sessions.

ZOOM link to be provided in a confirmation email to attendees.
